A speaking club in Huntingdonshire that has been in action for over 10 years has recently upped sticks and moved to a new venue: The Old Ferry Boat Inn in Holywell-cum-Needingworth.

The Old Ferry Boat was established in the year 560 and claims to be the oldest pub in England.

Not only that, but it is also reported to be one of the most haunted pubs in the country.

There are rumours that the ghost of Juliet Tewsley, a local girl who fell head over heels in unrequited love with a forester named Tom Zoul, rises every year on the anniversary of her death.

It is claimed the public house was built on top of her grave. A stone slab can still be seen set into the floor on the south-west side of the pub, which is said to mark the spot where she died.

Some say she hung herself from a tree so Tom would see her, and some say that she drowned in the river. The mystery may never be solved.

But what can be solved are those nerves you may feel before standing and talking in front of an audience.
