Hinchingbrooke School and Swavesey Village College have secured memorable victories in the Cambridgeshire Schools County Cup Finals after three tight, exciting matches.

Three school cup finals took place back-to-back at St Ives Town Football Club on May 11, making for an exciting finale following the knock-out cup format where each school had to progress through a minimum of three rounds.

The finals "lived up to the hype", with Hinchingbrooke kicking things off by defeating King's Ely 4-2 to claim the under 12s title, having come back from 2-0 down early in the second half.

In the next game, Swavesey overcame a stubborn Abbey College Team based in Ramsey to run out 3-1 winners in the under 14s decider.

In the last match of the finals competition, Swavesey's under 16s side faced off against a strong Impington Village College in a closely contested game where Swavesey narrowly won 2-1 to claim the title.

The girl's county cup finals are next to take place on Thursday, June 8, with the under 12s and 14s girls' sides competing in the plate and cup finals.
