The performing arts community is busy perfecting their contributions towards a variety show which is being staged in St Neots next week.

Theatre groups, dance schools and acoustic singers are among the acts that have stepped forward for the first ever ‘St Neots Fringe’.

The show is being staged at the town’s Priory Centre, in Priory Lane, and will run from Thursday (March 30) to Saturday, April 1 at 7:30pm.

There will also be a Saturday matinee on April 1 at 2:30pm.

St Neots Fringe is being hosted by VAMPS, the town’s amateur dramatic dramatics group, to raise funds for the Hunts Community Cancer Network (HCCN).

For VAMPS spokesperson Katie Kitson, the charity was a huge support during her battle with bowel cancer and she has been coordinating various fundraising activities.

She said: “The St Neots Fringe is going to be a real celebration of the arts in our town and the surrounding area.

“This kind of variety show is something we’ve never done before, and it’s wonderful to see so many local people interested in supporting the HCCN.

“Many different arts organisations and acts have come together and made a huge effort to put this show on. It will be very memorable.”

The eight acts set to perform are: VAMPS of St Neots, DSM Dance with Lynne, RAW Theatre Productions, Bees Dance Academy, Stageworks, Gilly Lee, Abby Red and Mark Wales.

On the opening night, it has also been arranged for HCCN nurses, volunteers and patients to watch the show for free.

“It will be a true celebration of the amazing work HCCN does for our community,” Katie added.
