Rainbow-themed cocktails were drunk, bingo was played and even a singalong took place as care home residents marked this year’s LGBT+ History Month.
Drag queen Mark Briggs, known as Felicity Flappes, arrived at Field Lodge in St Ives where she hosted a game of bingo and directed residents to sing to some popular show tunes.
One resident, John Satell, said: “I laughed so much, joined in the singing and won a few prizes!”
The visit came after team members at Field Lodge, run by Care UK, took part in equality and diversity training supported by Care UK’s LGBTQ+ network, which provides trining to team members on relevant issues.
Linda Martinez, home manager at Field Lodge, said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Felicity Flappes for a very entertaining evening!

“The team work hard to ensure the home is a welcoming and supportive place for everyone.”
Ms Martinez added: “Pride month is a wonderful way of bringing people together and celebrating those around us; it was fantastic to see everyone laughing and having fun.”
