A team of skaters will aim to complete 2,230 laps in 60 minutes to help raise money for a children’s mental health charity.

Around 25 to 30 skaters from St Neots Crazy Skaters Roller Skating Club will aim to reach the collective lap total for charity Blue Smile, in the challenge known as the Crazy Skateathon.

Each lap in the event, which starts at 4pm on March 25 inside One Leisure St Neots, will represent each child that Blue Smile has supported since 2010.

A club spokesperson said: "Together, [the club and Blue Smile] share a mission of inspiring children to have brighter futures."

Then the St Neots Sharks roller hockey team will host the Wave Cup.

“[This is] a charity tournament with teams battling it out over games lasting four minutes each.

“Four minutes represents one second for each child that Blue Smile have supported through one-to-one therapy last year.”

Councillor Richard Slade, deputy mayor of St Neots, will start proceedings.
