Cambridge Blue and This is How You Fall in Love are this week's adult and children's books of the week.

Cambridge Blue (adult book) - reviewed by Joanna Sellick

DC Gary Goodhew is intelligent, intuitive and the youngest detective at Cambridge's Parkside Station.

He is the first on the scene when the body of a young woman is discovered on Midsummer Common and, for the first time in his career, is given the chance to work on a murder investigation.

As he delves into the background of the victim, he uncovers lots of secrets and lies that lead him down many paths before uncovering the guilty party.

This is a pacey page-turner with a complex plot that will keep you gripped from the start.

For those of us who know Cambridge well it all feels so familiar...who doesn't know Parkside Police Station, where all the action is centred! Gary Goodhew is an interesting take on the literary detective. In this book, he is young and inexperienced and tends to be a bit of a rule-breaker with flashes of genius! I can't wait to read more in the series to see how he develops!

This is How You Fall in Love (children's book) - reviewed by Joanna Sellick

This is How You Fall in Love is a fake dating rom-com from debut author Anika Hussain.

It follows the story of Zara, a teenage girl who loves reading books about the perfect romance, but is yet to find her own love story. Enter Adnan, her best friend. It seems like everyone wants them to get together, so when Adnan posts an ill-timed photo on Instagram about a girl he's seeing and needs to cover up that girl's identity, Zara seems to be the perfect candidate to be his fake girlfriend.

One of my favourite things about this book was the characters! Easily one of my favourite books of the year, and it's only February!
