The owner of a restaurant in St Ives was surprised live on television on Saturday night (February 25) as part of Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway on ITV1.

Camera crews visited The Cherry Valley at 24 Bridge Street as part of the show’s ‘Happiest Minute of the Week’ where individuals across the UK are surprised live from their living rooms, or in Jitlada Freeman (Boo)'s case, in their place of work, with ‘A Place on the Plane’.

Fleur East joined the crews to surprise Jitlada who was working in the packed Chinese restaurant with a ticket to the series finale which is set to take place in April at the Orlando Universal Resort in Florida.

She is one of 200 people who will receive ‘A Place on the Plane’ over the course of the next few weeks on the programme.

They will be able to visit the resort, get access to a British Airways exclusive lounge at the airport, and much more.

Speaking of her surprise, Jitlada said: "I was so shocked and excited when I realised what was happening.

"With so many deserving people out there, I couldn’t believe it was happening to me."

She added: "I'm very thankful for this once in a lifetime opportunity and can’t wait to spend time with my amazing family (and the Saturday Night Takeaway Crew)."

The Cherry Valley shared a photo of Jitlada with her winning boarding pass and Fleur East yesterday (February 26), saying: “Thank you everybody that was at the restaurant last night for your patience.

“Apologies for the slow service last night (blame Ant & Dec).”
