International Women's Day takes place on March 8 and to celebrate this important annual event, we are asking our readers to nominate women who they think are inspirational.

The Cambridgeshire titles and websites, which include The Hunts Post, Ely Standard, The Cambs Times, The Wisbech Standard and Peterbrough Matters will publish the final list of inspirational women from Cambridgeshire online on March 8.

Cambridgeshire editor, Debbie Davies, will also nominate women from the county who she feels are inspirational.

She said: "We want to celebrate what it is to be a woman, whatever that means. It could be someone who has overcome adversity or works tirelessly to support others in their communities.

"It could also be anyone from the thousands of women out there who inspire their children by being wonderful mothers who are the greatest advocates and cheerleaders for their children. It could also be a teacher or other professional who has inspired others due to their dedication to the role."

If you would like to nominate someone, email Debbie Davies with a few details about the person who are nominating. Just write 100 words on why you think this person should make the final list of inspirational women.

Further details will be provided if the nomination is to be considered. Please email: debbie.davies@newsquest.co.uk for more information.

The IWD 2023 campaign is aimed at getting more people talking about why equal opportunities for women alone are not enough. The message is clear: Equity means creating an inclusive world.

2022 saw thousands of people across the world send in images to the International Women's Day website showing their support and solidarity for the #BreakTheBias campaign theme that helped drive positive change.
