Community groups in Cambridgeshire can apply for funding to celebrate His Majesty The King’s coronation on May 6.

The National Lottery Community Fund offers grants between £300 and £10,000 for several causes, including mitigating the impact of the cost-of-living crisis and supporting the Covid recovery.

It is also helping communities mark in style landmark events including the coronation of King Charles, the Eurovison Song Contest, and the 75th anniversary of Windrush.

HM Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Julie Spence, said: “The coronation is going to be a huge celebration which will bring joy across the country.

“Moreover, it will be an opportunity to bring communities together so I would urge anyone who is planning an event to mark this landmark event to be quick and get their applications in!”.

Applications must be made at least 12 weeks before groups want to spend their money, so time is tight to get a funding bid in.
