A Sawtry housebuilder has inspired a resident at its new development to start volunteering for a local charity after making a donation to a children’s charity.

Vistry Group, which is building at Judith Gardens in Sawtry, has inspired a Judith Gardens resident to volunteer as a client-driver co-ordinator for CARESCO’s service providing lifts to medical appointments.

Their donation to fund long-life milk for Sawtry foodbank’s, run by CARESCO, summer food parcels for school children earlier this year drove this inspiration.

The resident said: “When I retired, I knew I wanted to continue volunteering when and where I could.

“I have been involved in other volunteering opportunities throughout my life and having moved to a new area I am pleased to be able to start this role.”

CARESCO is a local charity based off Green End Road, providing the foodbank and offer other services including a carers support group, a Christmas Day party, a charity shop and a car scheme for medical appointments.
