A children's charity based in St Neots has received a massive £4,000 donation thanks to the Rotary Club of St Neots St Marys.

The Rotary Club visited the Shining Stars Children's Charity in Loves Farm earlier this month and presented a cheque to Natalie Sparrow, the founder and organiser of the charity.

Shining Stars provides support, services and respite care for children with disabilities and their families in the Cambridgeshire area.

The charity has already used some of the money to purchase sensory lights and sensory toys to be used by the children at their weekly meetings.

St Neots St Marys Rotary Club president Steve McCallion said he was "delighted to help a small growing charity" and hoped the new equipment would be very beneficial.

Natalie said: "Thank you so much for all your donations and support this year for Shining Stars children’s charity. It really is appreciated.

"The children can’t wait to try out the new equipment in the new year."

The Rotary Club had raised the money for the Shining Stars through the St Neots Mayor's Charity Golf Day and Dragon Boat Race.
