Information has been released by the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care System (ICS) about staying well over the festive period, and also how to access help for minor injuries and urgent treatment.

Between December 24 and January 2, local communities will be able to access the care they need through a range of NHS services, including Minor Injury Units (MIUs), Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs), pharmacies, and GP practices.

Some services will operate different opening hours over the bank holiday period, so the ICS is urging everyone to check at: www.cpics.org.uk/festive-opening-hours before travelling.

Health and care staff will continue to work throughout the holidays to look after local people and communities.

If you do think you need medical help, you should call 111 first – just visit 111.nhs.uk or call 111, 24/7, which is open every day of the year.

Dr Fiona Head, chief medical officer for NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, part of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough ICS, said: “This winter, our health and care staff will be working hard to take care of our local people and communities. You can help our wonderful teams as they work to keep local people well during the festive period by using the right service at the right time, and by following simple self-care steps to stay well at home.

“If you do need urgent medical help, visit 111.nhs.uk or call 111 first to get expert medical advice and support. NHS 111 can help you stay well at home where possible and connect you with the right local service for your needs.

“Thank you to all of our health and care staff working over the holiday season to keep people safe and well.”
