Hundreds of residents came out in droves to enjoy the annual magical Ramsey Christmas Lights Switch-on over the weekend.

The event took place in Great Whyte on November 26 with a Christmas market, live music and a fairground, keeping attendees entertained before the big switch-on.

Several children took part in a lantern parade through the town as the choir sang on stage before Father Christmas himself was given the honour of lighting up the town.

The mayor of Ramsey, Cllr Roger Brereton, said: "It was wonderful to see so many residents turn out to see the Christmas Lights Switch-on.

"The weather was kind to us and many local traders had stalls on the market. 

"Various entertainers kept us enthralled throughout the afternoon and evening, in addition to a fair and candlelight procession by our Youth Clubs.
