The Horseshoe Inn at Offord D’Arcy, known locally as ‘The Shoe’, is gearing up for the festive season with a selection of Christmas events. 

New owners Fred and Nikki took over the historic pub last year and they would like customers old and new, to join them in celebrating their one-year anniversary on Saturday, November 26. 

The pub has been serving Ale since 1626 and offers a warm welcome with cosy open fires, good food and great service. 

Landlord Fred said: “If you have visited the restaurant, you have seen – and tasted – what keeps our customers coming back for more. Perfect ingredients, freshly cooked food, served with top levels of customer service make us hard to resist.” 

On December 1, the Christmas Party Menu starts. Customers can enjoy a two-course meal for £25.95 or a three-course meal for £31.95. Christmas meals must be pre-ordered and are available all-day from Wednesday-Saturday 12-9pm, until 4pm on Christmas Eve.  

Its offers a range of delicious options including wild pheasant and apple brandy pate with toasted brioche, blade of beef with braised red cabbage, green beans, carrots, honey-roasted parsnips and roast potatoes, traditional turkey roast, salmon fillet or nut roast for vegetarians. There is also a selection of sumptuous desserts including Christmas pudding served with a warm Courvoisier brandy sauce. 

Landlady Nikki, said: “We offer a unique combination of fine dining in the comfort of our spacious restaurant in a village pub atmosphere.” 

On December 2, you can join Fred and Nikki and the local Brownies who will be singing carols outside the pub when they turn on the lights on their 15ft Christmas tree in the spacious car park. 

On December 13, the regular Pensioners lunches will have a special Christmas menu available between 12-3pm. This three-course meal for £19.90 or two courses for £14.95, includes such delights as prawn and crayfish cocktail, hand-carved turkey, sage and onion stuffing, crispy roast potatoes, carrots, brussels sprouts, honey-roasted parsnips, and a rich gravy, black cherry cheesecake and more. 

The renowned pub is also open on December 25, and will be serving a special Christmas Day menu with a wide range of mouth-watering options including homemade pea and ham soup with balsamic glaze and ciabatta, four choices of main courses including traditional turkey with all the trimmings, and delectable desserts including homemade brownie served with a red berry compote. Customers are advised to book soon, as there are only a few tables remaining. 

On December 31, The Horseshoe will set the scene for New Year’s Eve with its live music and party atmosphere.
