A thief from Eynesbury has been jailed for 16 weeks after pleading guilty to theft from a motor vehicle and burglary with intent to steal.
At Cambridge Magistrates’ Court yesterday (November 8), Ricky Homer, 35, of Berkley Street, Eynesbury, was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison.
Homer broke into a car parked in Reeve Way, Godmanchester, last month (October 8) and stole a handbag containing bank cards.
He was captured near the vehicle on CCTV on a bicycle at around 6am and then again shortly after at a nearby garage, where he attempted to use the victim’s bank card.
On October 31, he walked through a staff entrance to the Old Bridge Hotel in Huntingdon and stole a backpack containing clothing and other items worth £200.
He was spotted on CCTV in Huntingdon wearing some of the clothing and carrying the rucksack.
In both instances, Homer was identified by officers at Cambridgeshire Constabulary.
