HOUSES in Huntingdonshire were targeted today (Wednesday) as part of Cambridgeshire Police’s crackdown on burglary, vehicle crime and robbery.
The raids began at 7am at properties in Huntingdon and St Neots.
Officers executed warrants, carried out patrols and gave crime prevention advice as part of Operation Surf, with extra resources ploughed into the towns and villages across Huntingdonshire and Fenland.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs after what is thought to be amphetamine was seized in a raid on a home in Shirdley Road, St Neots.
A 20-year-old man was given a formal warning for possession of cannabis at an address in Garner Court, Huntingdon.
A further three warrants were executed at addresses in St Neots and Huntingdon.
In Manea, a 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft. Officers seized several items of machinery, including a ride-on lawnmower and a mini moto, from a property in Station Road.
Extra patrols were put on across Fenland and Huntingdonshire throughout the day. More than 80 officers and PCSOs took part in the day of action.
Sergeant Steve Atkin, who led the warrant in Manea, said: “These warrants were carried out as part of a day of action across Huntingdonshire and Fenland which aimed to target offenders and disrupt criminal activity.
“I would continue to appeal to the public to contact us with information about crime in their neighbourhood.”
