Abbey College students are helping to ram home a safety message when travelling to or from school with a new poster campaign.
A team of nine students working on the school’s RATS campaign - Road and Transport Safety - have devised posters aimed at different age groups giving advice on how to walk, cycle or take the bus to school, and presented their work to local primary schools and each year group at the college.
Students have also produced an educational video about how to make your way to and from school safely, and even written to Cambridgeshire County Council calling for a crossing to be installed near the school.
Year 11 team leader Elizabeth Ferreria said: “These students have been very active in working towards improving safety for students in the area and raising awareness of Road And Transport Safety. The group are looking forward to monitoring the affects of their hard work and are already planning their next project to contribute to the school and wider community.”
