Market traders and food producers were flying the Union Jack on Saturday at a Best of British farmers’ market in St Ives.
The market held on the first day of British Food Fortnight included stalls from Brownsfield Farm in Over, Fenflora in Tydd St Mary’s, and College Market Street Gardens in Oakington.
Visitors were able to find out more about honey-production with a bee on display and there was a traditional meat-mincing device and a cider press.
Free samples of food were also up for grabs. Nearly 30 traders were there on the day - all from within a 30 mile radius of the town.
Assistant to the St Ives town clerk, Annette Ablewhite said: “It was very well-received. All our farmers’ markets are very well supported by traders and the public.”
