THE principles underlying development of Alconbury Weald, as the airfield site looks set to become known, will be shown to neighbouring villagers in a series of exhibitions before developers Urban&Civic submit an outline planning application in the summer.
They will include more details of how the developers of the 1,400-acre site plan to make it home to an enterprise zone creating 8,000 jobs, 700 acres of green space including planting over half a million trees, 5,000 high-quality low-carbon homes, and investment in green energy and sustainable travel.
They include the results of input from the 2,500 people who attended an open weekend at the former airfield last September.
The exhibitions are at Alconbury Memorial Hall on June 20, from 2pm to 10pm, Abbots Ripton Village Hall on June 22 (2pm-9pm), Little Stukeley Village Hall on June 26 (4pm-7pm), Great Stukeley Village Hall on June 27 (2pm-10pm) and at Huntingdonshire Regional College – as part of Unity in the Community – on July 14 from 11am until 3pm.
