A BIKER was taken to hospital after suffering multiple fractures in a crash involving a car and motorcycle in a Huntingdonshire village last night (Sunday).

The woman was riding her motorbike along High Street, Somersham, just after 5pm when she was involved in a collision with a black Vauxhall Astra.

She suffered suspected spinal injuries and open fractures to her thigh and lower leg and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.

The road was closed for about four hours for recovery and for the Highways Agency to clear an oil spill.
