A GRANDMOTHER has been fined for having too many people in her car, including a child sitting on a woman’s lap.
Jackaline Goodson, of Monarch Road, Eaton Socon, was in Huntingdon preparing for a day out on September 6 with her daughter and her children when a friend asked for a lift to Hinchingbrooke Hospital because her child’s nose was bleeding.
Huntingdon magistrates heard on Thursday that Goodson told the woman to get in her Peugeot 107 along with her daughter and children.
Officers were monitoring car speeds on Sapley Road at 2.45pm when they spotted Goodson’s car and thought it was travelling above the speed limit.
They asked her to stop and saw Goodson at the wheel, an adult in the front, two children in the correct seats and an adult, with a child in her arms, on the back seat.
The 53-year-old admitted using a motor vehicle with load/passengers likely to cause danger and was fined 65 and ordered to pay 70 costs and 15 victim surcharge.
