LAURA Baxter has lost her battle with cancer.

Twenty-seven-year-old Laura died on Friday night in Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, with her mum Jacky and boyfriend Wayne by her side.

Laura’s fight against the rare form of cancer pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) had inspired thousands of people across Huntingdonshire and the UK to raise money for an operation that was seen as her only hope of survival. However, she had been battling an infection and towards the end of last week her condition deteriorated.

Laura’s family have said half the money raised will be donated to PMP Survivors charity, with the remaining funds given to the Addenbrooke’s ward that cared for her.

Laura’s Facebook page was flooded with tributes from family and friends, who said they were privileged to have known her.
