A PERSON had to be released from a car which became marooned in flood water in Hamerton.
Firefighters from Huntingdon had to wear in-water equipment to release the person after becoming trapped at 10.05am today (Thursday, November 22) in Hamerton Road.
They rescued the person and returned to their station by 11.30am but warned motorists to stay safe on roads affected by flooding.
“As well as being aware of what to do if your home is affected by flooding, it is important to stay safe on the roads.
“Driving through floodwater can be extremely dangerous as it is impossible to see how deep the water is or whether there are hazards under the water, which could damage your car and leave you stranded.”
