PERFORMERS took to the streets of St Neots in a ‘granny flash mob’ to promote their version of Mel Brook’s musical The Producers.
VAMPS members shocked shoppers in the town and in Beales department store by performing songs from the show, which starts tonight at the Priory Centre in St Neots.
The production company was awarded the Best Musical of the Year two weeks ago by the NODA Eastern Region Awards at a ceremony in St Ives.
RaeAnna Hammerbacker, the society’s secretary and director of this November’s show Oliver!, said: “This award, and the previous nomination for Boogie Nights, serves as confirmation that the society is doing things right and that the sum of the society is far greater than the component parts and proves what can be achieved when everyone has the same vision and goal.”
INFORMATION: The show runs until April 20. Tickets £8.50-12, from www.thevamps.org or call 07866 224769.
