ONE person had to be freed from their car in a two-car crash near St Ives yesterday afternoon (Sunday).
Firefighters on Huntingdon’s rescue vehicle were travelling back to their base when they came across the crash on London Road, Hemingford Grey, close to the A14 junction at 2.45pm. Six people were in the two vehicles.
The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAS) called for fire assistance and another fire engine from Huntingdon was sent.
Firefighters cut free one person trapped in their vehicle and made the cars safe.
Paramedics assessed four people and took two patients to hospital, one had a chest injury, a spokesman for the EEAS said.
He added the injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
