A SHOE shop in St Ives will be replaced with a card shop.
As reported in The Hunts Post last week, Stead and Simpson will be closing on August 17 after the landlord of the Crown Street business gave the firm, owned by Shoezone, a month to vacate the building.
Card Factory is to replace the shoe shop, which in July last year announced it was closing but was subsequently saved after its managers renegotiated its lease.
The national discount card store has submitted plans to Huntingdonshire District Council to change the signage, including an illuminated sign, of the building for five years from August 15.
