A dance teacher to thousands of Huntingdonshire children has passed on her school to one of her pupils.
Norma Terry, 72, of West Leys, St Ives, has stepped down as head of the Norma Terry School of Dance after 28 years. Former pupil Vicky Grant, 34, of Russet Avenue, Needingworth, has taken over the school and renamed it the Vicky Grant School of Dance.
Mrs Terry, who has taught dance for 40 years, said: “It has been a rewarding career. I haven’t retired just yet despite being well beyond retiring age and I’m still teaching a few lessons.”
Mrs Grant told The Hunts Post: “I started dancing with Norma when I was four. Dance is my biggest passion. When I got to the age of 11 I knew I wanted to be a teacher and I spoke to Norma about how I’d go about it, starting as her assistant.
“It proves that dreams can come true. I’m so proud.”
