THIEVES stole a charity box and broke into a safe in a raid on a family-owned pub in a Huntingdonshire village.
The Axe and Compass, in High Street, Hemingford Abbots, between just before midnight and 4am on Wednesday, September 11.
The offenders smashed a side window to get inside, before stealing a safe, a charity box and damaging some wires.
Detective Constable Lucy Bright said: “This pub is a family-owned business and this break-in has left them extremely distressed.
“I would urge anyone with information about this incident to come forward.
“I would also ask residents to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious.”
