Firefighters battled a car fire on the southbound A1 between Norman Cross and Sawtry this morning.
One crew from Stanground and one crew from Yaxley were called to the scene between Junction 16 and Junction 15 at 7.55am, where a blue Vauxhall vehicle was already well alight.
Wearing breathing apparatus, they used hose reels to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire was accidental, believed to be electrical.
Firefighters are currently returning to their stations.
