Residents will be able to have their say about plans for an upmarket care home and a new housing development at an old factory site in Eaton Socon when an exhibition comes to the Priory Centre.
On Tuesday (April 1), visitors will be able to meet with the development team and give feedback on their proposal to regenerate the run-down site on Little End Road by building a 70-bedroom nursing and care facility for elderly people alongside 40 new homes, 30 or 40 per cent of which would be affordable housing.
The project is in the early stages and planning permission has not yet been sought.
Duncan Ford, development director at Frontier Estates, said: “Our plans for Nelson Road will breathe fresh life into the dilapidated and unusable warehouse building. We will provide new homes and deliver up to 80 new jobs at a latest generation residential care facility. Our investment will guarantee the long-term use of the site, boost the local economy and satisfy a local need for new homes and care. It is a strong proposition for Eaton Socon and I look forward to explaining the plans to local people and hearing their views – either face-to-face or via our consultation website.”
