A student has been taken on by a Huntingdon business after impressing in a Dragons’ Den-style event. Kristian Brown took part in Huntingdonshire Regional College’s Lions’ Den “youngtrepreneur” competition last year, set up to prepare students for their careers by advising in CV writing, interview techniques and presentation skills.
He impressed Stuart Searle, managing director of First Mailing, in Glebe Road, who told the level 3 business student he had great potential but could benefit from another year studying.
Fifteen months later, Mr Brown approached First Mailing to tell Mr Searle he listened, finished his studying ... and was offered a business apprenticeship.
Mr Searle said. “First Mailing has worked closely with the college and the Huntingdon Manufacturers Association to inspire future entrepreneurs living locally.”
