Former Needingworth base jumper Ralph Greenaway is feared dead after going missing in on a mountainside in Canada.
A rescue mission was launched on September 2 after Mr Greenaway’s friends raised the alarm when he failed to show after saying he was going for a trek.
The 40-year-old, who now lives in Canada and works as a helicopter pilot, is thought to have gone base jumping from Mount Rundle, in Bannf National Park near Calgary, Alberta, on August 31.
More than 50 volunteers took part in the ground and air search, initiated by Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Parks Canada, but have not found the ex-paratrooper.
In 2005, Mr Greenaway jumped off the Kuala Lumpur International Tower as part of a sponsored base jump for the Malaysian Downs Syndrome Association.
