A Cambridgeshire police sergeant has admitted rape and child sex offences.
On Friday at Norwich Crown Court, Nick Lidstone, 54, of Heslerton Way, Barrington, pleaded guilty to three counts of rape, three counts of indecency with a child, two counts of assault by penetration and two counts of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.
The sergeant, who was based at the police headquarters in Huntingdon, also admitted sexual assault, indecent assault and taking indecent photographs of a child.
Lidstone, who was arrested on June 26, was remanded in custody until sentencing on December 22.
Deputy chief constable Alec Wood said: “This was an appalling crime where the victim was put through a horrendous ordeal over a prolonged period and I welcome today’s guilty plea.”
