Pupils from Ramsey Junior School made the most of the festivities for Plough Monday by creating a spectacle for the town.
Molly dancing and singing traditional tunes was the order of the day as they were joined by St Peter’s C of E Junior School in Wisbech for the procession, together with the traditional straw bear on Monday (January 12). Year 6 pupils from both schools performed alongside The Ouse Washes Molly Dancers, watched by the rest of the school, pupils from Meadowgate School in Wisbech and a crowd of residents.
They made their way from the junior school to Abbey Green for the blessing of the plough, before parading back to school for more dancing.
Michelle Juniper, deputy headteacher, said: “We’re thrilled that the event went as planned. The children performed brilliantly.”
