Police are appealing for the public’s help to identify a woman they would like to speak to in connection with an incident in which a penalty fare pad was stolen from a member of staff at Huntingdon railway station.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers believe the woman in this photograph will have information which can assist their investigation after the theft at about 5.30pm on Thursday, November 20, last year.

Pc Rachel Montgomery, the investigating officer, said: “A member of rail staff was in the booking hall at the station, dealing with a woman who had been attempting to travel without a ticket. Another woman then approached them, and began to verbally abuse and argue with the member of staff. She then stole a penalty notice pad from the staff member’s pocket and slipped it under her cardigan before leaving the station.

“Enquiries have been ongoing to attempt to identify the person responsible for the theft but to no avail. I am now appealing for anyone who recognises the woman in this photo to come forward as I believe she may have information which can help us.”
