The Duke of Gloucester visited Huntingdon on Thursday as part of Hinchingbrooke School’s 450th anniversary celebrations.
The duke, Prince Richard, met pupils from Years 7 and 8 as well as sixth form pupils before leading an assembly where a plaque was unveiled ahead of the opening of the school’s new sports hall.
A spokesman for the school said: “The weather could not have been better and our students were amazing ambassadors of the school, speaking eloquently about the different aspects which make us a unique establishment.
“The plaque unveiled by his royal highness will eventually find its place onto the new sports hall once completed.”
