A major power cut has hit businesses in one of Huntingdon’s busiest industrial areas.

Staff arriving for work at 6am today (Wednesday) at businesses in Glebe Road have reported power outages, with no access to phone lines and businesses unable to function as normal.

It is understood that some businesses in the St Peter’s Road area have also been affected.

A spokesman for UK Power Networks said: “There is currently a power cut in this area. Our engineers are working hard to fix it as quickly as possible. We are sorry for any trouble this may have caused you.”

It is believed that a fault with an underground cable has led to the outage and businesses in the area have been informed that the road will have to be dug up to rectify the problem.
