A man brandishing a knife in a Huntingdon street was arrested following a “stand-off” with riot police.
Steven Mayfield, 49, of Thongsley, Huntingdon, was arrested and charged with causing criminal damage to a grey Ford Focus car and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
The incident took place at about 4pm on Saturday in Thongsley.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said that officers attended and a stand-off took place before an arrest was made.
Mayfield was remanded in police custody and appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on Monday (March 14), where he pleaded guilty to both charges.
He will be sentenced at Peterborough Crown Court at a later date, with a date still to be set.
