Pupils at Godmanchester Community Primary School have been awarded for taking on the challenge of cycling to school.
The school were given crowned as runners up in the Modeshifts STARS National Awards that recognises those that demonstrate excellence in using sustainable travel.
Chair of governors Roger Coxhead, said: “It’s a great achievement and honour for the school. Mrs Millard and the children and the parents have worked hard to improve the number of pupils using cycles.
“Out of 19000 schools the judges voted us the second best school in the country. Everyone is proud of this award.”
Since being part of the scheme, the school has increased by 50% the number of children using cycles to attend the school.
Some of the youngsters were presented with the award by MP Jonathan Djanogly following his visit to the school to talk to pupils about his role.
