Thousands of people were in awe on Sunday as some of Britain’s best aircrafts took to the sky for the Little Gransden Air and Car Show.

Celebrating its silver anniversary the event, which often welcomes visitors from around the globe, saw stellar flying from a world-renowned Spitfire, along with a Lancaster, Hurricane and Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress.

Event co-organiser David Poile said: “We have had some really positive feedback from the day. Throughout the day we had a few showers with people rushing in and out of the hangers but everyone had a good time.”

During the four-hour flying display there was also “first class” acrobatics from former British champion Mark Jefferies as well as the Dennis Neville Flying Circus.

Little Gransden airfield, at Fuller’s Hill Farm, welcomed 300 vintage, veteran and classic cars to the site along with a number of stall holders from organisations throughout the region.

“Without the team of volunteers that help us we wouldn’t be able to do the show – it is not just me that makes in the show, added Mr Poile.

For the past 25 years the event has been raising money for Children in Need and this year was no different with funds being split between the charity and other local groups.
