More than 100 people turned out for the 24th Ramsey and District Garden Club show, with plants, peaches, and preserves all ready for judging.
The annual event, held at the Ramsey Rural Museum, saw 10 categories open for entrants, with flowers, vegetables, cooking and craftwork on the list, as well as photography, floral art, fruit, and pot plants.
In fact, more than 40 people presented their produce to the judges this year, with a staggering 450 different entries submitted.
David Furniss, vice president of the club, said: “It’s a community event. The most interesting thing I saw was a huge weed with a purple flower which someone had found in their garden.”
Although open to anyone, some of the best prizes went to members of the club, including Stan Mace who entered 69 different items.
Presented by Lord de Ramsey, Mr Mace won the Diana Broughton Cup for the most points gained in the show, closely followed by fellow members Robin McPherson and Lesley O’Reilly.
The day raised more than £200, with many items auctioned off at the end.
Other entries in the show included misshapen vegetables, and even the best weeds.
