It’s not everyday that the mayor of Huntingdon has a pie shoved in his face - but Councillor Daryl Brown did just that for charity.
Cllr Brown, chief executive of Magpas Air Ambulance, was the first to take part in the Pie in the Sky campaign which was launched as part of this year’s National Air Ambulance Week.
Cllr Brown said: “Magpas Air Ambulance brings crucial lifesaving care by land and air to patients in life-threatening emergencies in Huntingdon, the East of England and beyond.
“Magpas is not a state-funded service and relies on generous public donations to continue saving lives. I want to show everyone - if the mayor of Huntingdon can get pied, so can you.”
The initiative is asking people to take a pie in the face to raise funds for the service. To take part, film yourself being pied in the face and then nominate three friends to do the same and donate £2 to Magpas by texting ‘PIED16 £2’ to 70070.
