A car careered off the road and into hedgerow amid heavy fog on the roads around Caxton last night (Monday).
Firefighters from Papworth and Gamglingay were called at about 6pm to a stretch of the A1198 after a car left the road and became lodged in a hedgerow at the top of a steep embankment.
Firefighters had to cut trees and hedgerows back surrounding the car in order for the driver to climb out of the car.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews assisted the female casualty down the embankment before she was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The driver had come off the road in patchy fog and was helped by an off duty firefighter from Papworth before the fire crews arrived.”
