A charity which helps multiple sclerosis suffers throughout Huntingdonshire has received vital funds to make its centre more accessible.

The MS Therapy Centre was presented with a cheque for £1,000 by staff from the Tesco Extra store, in Abbots Ripton Road.

Guy Schwabe, store manager, said: “The MS Therapy Centre does a fantastic job helping people throughout the area and relies on donations to maintain the services it provides.”

The donation will be spent on new garden paths at the centre, in Mayfield Road, that will make it easier for people with limited mobility or in a wheelchair to use.

Martyn Fox, vice chairman, said: “One of the problems is that people with MS find it difficult to walk on grass, therefore we have designed a series of paths that will make it easier for members and guests to enjoy the garden and make more use of it when weather permits.

“Everything that we do at the centre is the result of fundraising and donations and a contribution of this magnitude is very welcome and we are extremely grateful to Tesco for its support.”
