Lisa Halls, from Fenstanton, is hosting a string of events to raise funds for Children with Cancer UK, a charity that helps support youngsters with the condition.

Events include a charity auction that is being hosted by Lisa who is running the London Marathon with her friend Nina.

The auction, which will be held at The Duchess Freehouse and Restaurant, Fenstanton, will raise funds to go towards the charity.

The beauty therapist said: “I did the London Marathon back in 2003 and I vowed that I would never do it again. But then my friend did it last year and raised £5000 for Children with Cancer UK, and it just made me want to do it again.

“The charity is such a good cause, and I know quite a few people that have either suffered with cancer or know someone that has so really wanted to raise as much money as we can.

“I know that whatever pain I will go through running, it will be nothing compared to what those children will have to go through and that is what will keep me going.

“We hope that we can get as many people down to the event as possible. So many local businesses have donated towards the auction and it is absolutely amazing. “

The night will also hold an ‘auction of promises’ where people will offer services locally in a bid to raise more money for the charity.

Not only that but pub locals have offered to be do a sponsored wax, where the men will let the beautician wax them to help raise more money.

Lisa said: “We just hope that we can get as many people to the event and raise as much money as we can.”

The event will be held on Saturday (March 10), in The Duchess Freehouse and Restaurant in Fenstanton from 7pm onwards.
