A new charity shop has opened on the Market Square in St Neots.
Town mayor, Councillor Derek Giles was joined by his wife and mayoress, Cllr Sandie Giles to perform the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new Dogs Trust outlet, which is at 34 Market Square.
“Many local people have joined us to volunteer their time to help prepare the shop and donate their goods,” said the retail project coordinator, Gina Fitzroy.
“The shop will have a boutique feel and will raise funds to support the vital work that the Dogs Trust carries out.”
The Dogs Trust was founded in 1891 and is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. The trust cares for more than 15,000 dogs each year through its network of 20 rehoming centres. The charity has been involved in every piece of legislation affecting dogs over the past 126 years.
