Huntingdonshire communities come together for Macmillan coffee mornings

The country-wide campaign encourages business, individuals and community groups to set up their own coffee mornings to raise funds for the cancer charity.

Last year, the coffee morning, which has been going since 1990, raised £27 million for the cause, with money going to help patients and families affected by cancer.

Churchill Retirement Living, in Huntingdon, invited people to join them at Moorhouse Lodge and staff and residents at Ferrars Hall Care Home also welcomed guests in Huntingdon.

Huntingdon Fire Station pitched together to raise money for the cause after spending the morning selling cakes and coffee to staff and members of the public.

Staff and volunteers at Hinchingbrooke Hospital arranged their own coffee morning for visitors and patients, as did Tesco St Neots who had special visitor, deputy mayor of St Neots, Councillor Delphine Johnson.

More than 25 coffee mornings were registered on the Macmillan website in the Huntingdonshire area.
