As part of their 40th birthday celebrations this year, the Eatons Community Association (ESCA) decided to place benches in Eaton Socon and Eaton Ford.
The first, on Eaton Socon Green, near St Mary's Church, has been located so that anyone walking from the shops, industry or supermarkets in the village have a place to sit before continuing to their homes with heavy bags. The plaque on the bench mentions two former well known Eaton Socon residents, George and Daisy Seager, who founded the association in 1979.
Chairman of ESCA, Sue Jarrett, said: "We are delighted that these two residents had the foresight to start an association which has grown so much in 40 years and is now recognised for all its activities which includes the May Day celebrations on Eaton Socon Green."
