Sixth form chemistry students at Abbey College in Ramsey are celebrating after success in the 2020 Cambridge Chemistry Challenge.
The college came home with a silver award, thanks to Year 12 student, Edward Taylor.
George Wright, head of the school’s sixth form, said: “I am extremely proud of this achievement, especially considering the challenges posed by COVID-19. The results from the competition are a testament to the hard work and passion of our students, as well as our fantastic teaching staff. A huge congratulations to all the students who took part and especially well done to Edward for his silver award.”
The competition aims to test and challenge students interested in chemistry and provides excellent experience for any student considering taking their studies further.
Tanya Batchford, a science teacher at Abbey College, added: “Eddie is an amazing student who embraces his education. He has not let the difficult year be a barrier to his success and applies himself fully to every task presented to him. I’m proud to be his teacher.”
