The leasehold interest in the 16th century coaching inn at Great Stukeley has been sold, it is believed for more than £125,000.
The Grade II listed Stukeleys Country Hotel and Inn, on Ermine Street, includes a public bar and recently refurbished 50-cover restaurant and eight en suite letting bedrooms. It is understood that an inn has stood on the site since the 16th century and recent refurbishments remain faithful to this age, say agents Christies, who handled the sale for Paul Wallman, who also owns four pubs and restaurants in Bedfordshire.
The inn has immense character, with exposed brickwork, oak beams and large fireplaces, Christies add.
